Anritsu BTS Master MT8221B Handheld Base Station Analyzer
The Anritsu MT8221B BTS Master is a high performance handheld base station analyzer for installing and maintaining wireless networks. It combines a cable and antenna analyzer, a spectrum analyzer, and a power meter in one rugged, battery operated instrument. It was designed from the ground up to support 4G standards (LTE and HSPA+) as well as installed 2G and 3G networks so a single tool covers the line, the antenna, and the over the air signal at the cell site.
Key Features Anritsu MT8221B BTS
- Cable and antenna analyzer: 400 MHz to 4 GHz measuring return loss, VSWR, cable loss, distance to fault, phase, gain, and two port transmission with a Smith chart display
- Strong cable and antenna performance: 80 dB dynamic range up to 3.0 GHz and 70 dB from 3 to 4 GHz, with a measurement speed of 4.5 ms per data point or better
- High RF immunity: +17 dBm on-channel and +10 dBm on frequency so you can sweep on live sites
- Spectrum analyzer: 150 kHz to 7.1 GHz for spectrum and interference analysis with options for phase noise, occupied bandwidth, signal strength, ACPR, C/I, and channel power
- Internal power meter: 10 MHz to 7.1 GHz, with support for USB power sensors up to 26 GHz
- LTE-ready demodulation: a 20 MHz demodulation bandwidth supports LTE bandwidths from 1.4 to 20 MHz
- 30 MHz zero-span IF output: lets you demodulate almost any wideband signal externally
- Optional vector signal generator: for receiver testing generating two modulated signals plus noise
- Additional capabilities and options: gated sweep, channel scanning, coverage mapping, GPS receiver, E1/T1/T3 backhaul bit error rate testing, and PIM analysis when paired with the separate PIM Master
- Calibration and bias tee: OSL and FlexCal calibration plus a 32 V internal bias tee
- Data handling: Ethernet and USB transfer, line sweep tools, and Master Software Tools PC software
- Portable: about 12.4 × 8.3 × 3.7 in., and under 11 lb
Typical Applications Anritsu MT8221B BTS
- Cell site installation, commissioning, and maintenance
- Cable and antenna system sweeps
- Interference hunting and spectrum monitoring
- LTE, HSPA+, GSM, and other wireless signal analysis
- Coverage verification and mapping
- Backhaul testing (with the E1/T1/T3 option)
Why Choose It
The Anritsu MT8221B BTS replaces several separate instruments with one handheld that covers the whole cell site from the cable to the antenna to the signal in the air. High RF immunity and fast sweeps make testing quicker, and its option list lets you configure it for the work you do.
