Agilent N9914A FieldFox Handheld RF Combination Analyzer 6.5 GHz
The Agilent N9914A is a FieldFox handheld RF combination analyzer originally from Agilent and now Keysight. Its base function is a cable and antenna analyzer and it can be configured with a spectrum analyzer vector network analyzer and more covering 30 kHz to 6.5 GHz in a single rugged unit. It is designed to deliver benchtop class accuracy in the field and it fits in a technician kit as a replacement for several separate instruments.
Key Features
- Wide frequency range: 30 kHz to 6.5 GHz for cable and antenna analysis and network analysis and 5 kHz to 6.5 GHz for spectrum analysis
- Cable and antenna analyzer (standard): distance to fault (DTF) return loss, and cable loss measurements with the option to measure DTF and TDR in the same sweep
- Optional vector network analyzer: transmission/reflection or full 2-port S-parameters (S11, S21, S22, S12) with magnitude and phase about 100 dB dynamic range and ±0.004 dB trace noise
- Optional spectrum analyzer: accurate amplitude measurements of ±0.5 dB over the full band and temperature range with no warm up needed and spur free dynamic range of 105 dB or better
- Low noise floor: displayed average noise level of around -155 dBm at 1 GHz with an optional preamplifier
- Additional functions: independent RF source, vector voltmeter, built in power meter, and average peak and pulse measurements with USB power sensors
- Simple calibration: QuickCal makes field calibration fast and easy
- Fast sweeps: about 432 µs per point in a 1,001 point sweep
- Compact and rugged: about 3.0 kg (6.6 lb), designed to MIL-PRF-28800F Class 2 and operating from -10 to +55 °C
- Battery operation: about 3.5 hours of battery life
- Remote control: operate it from an iPad or iPhone
Typical Applications
- Cable and antenna installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Cell site and tower testing
- Interference hunting and spectrum monitoring
- Component and filter characterization in the field
- AM/FM tuning, cable trimming, and field strength measurements
- Public safety and military communications maintenance
Why Choose It
The Agilent N9914A puts a cable and antenna analyzer, network analyzer and spectrum analyzer into a single lightweight rugged instrument so technicians carry one tool not three. Its benchtop class accuracy and field friendly design give dependable results at the tower the vehicle or the bench.
