Anritsu MW82119B-0850 (Cellular 850 MHz) Passive Intermodulation Analyzer
The Anritsu MW82119B-0850 is a battery operated high power portable passive intermodulation (PIM) analyzer for the Cellular 850 MHz band. PIM is interference caused by nonlinear joints, corroded connectors, and damaged antennas and cables and it degrades uplink performance on cellular networks. The Anritsu MW82119B-0850 PIM Master finds these faults at the cell site, and with its optional Site Master cable and antenna analyzer one instrument can certify both PIM and line sweep performance.
Key Features Anritsu MW82119B-0850
- Cellular 850 MHz band: transmit tones of 869 to 871 MHz (Tx1) and 881.5 to 894 MHz (Tx2) with a 7/16 DIN (female) test port
- High test power: output from 20 dBm up to 46 dBm (40 W per tone) covering the power levels used in standard PIM testing
- Low residual PIM: typically -125 dBm
- Third, fifth, and seventh order products: detects higher order intermodulation products with 2nd order available in some bands with a separate option
- Measurement modes: PIM vs. time, swept PIM, noise floor, and Distance to PIM which pinpoints where along the cable or antenna system the PIM source is
- Optional Site Master cable and antenna analyzer (Option 331): return loss, VSWR, cable loss, and distance to fault from the same instrument so fewer cases are needed on site
- Remote operation: Wi-Fi remote control supports a variety of testing situations
- Large display: 8.4-inch outdoor viewable screen with a user interface designed for field work
- Battery operated: runs for more than three hours on its 12 V Li-Ion battery
- Portable and rugged: about 350 × 314 × 152 mm and roughly 9.0 to 12.2 kg depending on frequency band with MIL-STD-810G drop test rating IP54 dust and water spray protection stainless steel lifting rings, and a padded soft case
- Other options: a high accuracy power meter (requires a USB power sensor) a GPS receiver (requires an antenna), and ISO 17025 and Z540.1 calibration packages
- Survives full reflection: able to survive full reflection of the 2 × 46 dBm test tones
Typical Applications
- Cell site commissioning and maintenance for 850 MHz networks
- Finding PIM sources on antennas, jumpers, connectors, and feed lines
- Quality assurance of components before deployment
- Distance to PIM fault location
- Line sweep and PIM certification with the Site Master option
Why Choose It
Anritsu MW82119B-0850 PIM Master combines high test power, low residual PIM, and Distance to PIM in a field ready battery powered instrument. Technicians can find hidden faults that cut network capacity and certify both PIM and sweep performance without changing equipment.
