Benning ST 725 Appliance Tester
The Benning ST 725 is a portable, battery- and mains-powered appliance tester for the electrical safety testing of equipment in line with DIN EN 50678 (VDE 0701), DIN EN 50699 (VDE 0702), and DGUV Regulation 3. It suits electricians, service technicians, and in-house maintenance teams who need fast, repeatable pass/fail results on site.
Key Features
- Standards-compliant testing: meets VDE 0701 and 0702 requirements for repair and periodic testing, with limit values preset to the VDE standard
- Battery-powered and mobile: runs on six AA batteries for testing independent of the mains, and the battery set is rated for about 2,500 test samples
- Fast, automatic test sequence: a complete test takes only a few seconds, with a clear good/bad (PASS/FAIL) result
- Simple operation: control by pushbuttons, with a graphic display showing results and limit values
- Protective conductor resistance: 0.05 Ω to 20 Ω
- Insulation resistance: 0.1 MΩ to 20 MΩ, with selectable nominal test voltages of 250 V and 500 V
- Leakage current measurement: protective conductor and touch current by the differential and equivalent leakage current methods, with direct measurement available in mains operation
- Extension lead testing: automatic detection and testing of extension and IEC device connection cables
- RCD testing: can test permanently installed and portable RCDs and PRCDs
- Measured value memory: stores 999 results, with USB download and software for creating test reports in Excel
- Printer connection: direct printing of test certificates on site with the optional Benning PT 2 printer
- Expandable: optional measuring adapters allow testing of three-phase appliances with CEE connectors
Typical Applications
